The Early Childhood Resource & Training Center (ECRTC) works to support the healthy development of all children. ECRTC improves opportunities for children in communities that are traditionally underprivileged and hard-to-reach, including recent immigrants and refugees and urban American Indians. Every year up to 1,000 early childhood providers, teachers and parents receive training and mentoring to improve child outcomes. Participants gain the knowledge and skills necessary to stimulate the academic, physical, and social development of children in their care. School readiness is promoted among high-risk children and families, preparing them for long-term success.
ECRTC is a nationally recognized, grassroots organization with thirty-six years of experience working in communities affected by poverty. ECRTC has uniquely accessible programming. Professional educational opportunities and materials are provided at no cost. Diverse trainers and practitioners enhance learning by employing current research-based methods coupled with culturally and emotionally supportive environments. Participants gain beneficial relationships, and leave with the confidence and tools necessary to be effective care providers. Through their leadership the impact of ECRTC extends far beyond the classroom and results in both improved opportunities and outcomes for children.
