Community VOICES (Voices of Involved Citizens Encouraging Safety)

Community VOICES provides advocacy, resources and educational information to community groups and individuals to increase public awareness regarding sexual assault, child sexual assault, Internet predators, Internet safety and missing children.

Community VOICES has been in existence since March of 2005. Since then, the women of VOICES have supported many victims of sexual assault before, during, and after trial, by providing them with information regarding the responsibilities of the various state and law enforcement entities during the criminal justice process and volunteering their time to provide advocates to support the victim during court appearances.

In cases of missing/abducted/endangered runaway children, the team works with parents, media and law enforcement when a child has gone missing, as well as offer support to the family until the child is located. They also provide resources to teens that fall victim to exploitation, child prostitution and sexual assault.

Community VOICES refers victims to other entities to ensure the receipt of rights and services available under the Victim Bill of Rights, the Criminal Offender Record Information Law and other appropriate Massachusetts Laws, including their rights under Civil Law.

The organization maintains a very active informational website, with resources for victims of crime, tips on sexual assault prevention, Internet safety information, as well as a current list of missing children. The site also includes information on obtaining sex offender information. For more information please visit: www.communityvoices.net.
