Boys' Club of New York

Rooted in a tradition and history of community service, outreach, and philanthropy to some of New York City’s most socially and economically troubled neighborhoods, The Boys' Club of New York strives to sustain an environment that nurtures individual talent, strengthens family, and promotes strong citizenship while fostering a passion for learning. We encourage our participants to seek the highest standards of scholarship, moral development, and physical achievement. Working closely with our membership and their families, our professional staff encourages the emotional, social, physical, educational, and vocational growth of the agency’s entire membership and extended family.

Who We Are and What We Do: The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY), established in 1876, is the nation’s oldest boys club. BCNY builds future men of character, instilling strong values and a positive perspective that counter the negative forces found on city streets.

Fun, Enjoyable Programs: The Boys’ Club of New York offers a variety of programs that boys are sure to enjoy. In this way, we keep boys off the streets and in school. It is in these programs that we make our greatest impact, for the relationships that are forged between our staff and members inform the character of our boys for the rest of their lives.

Academic Support Programs: The Boys’ Club of New York believes that, in a constantly changing world, nothing prepares a boy for future success as much as a sound education. We provide a wide array of academic support programs in order to best address different age groups and learning styles.

Athletic Programs: At The Boys' Club of New York, we know that athletic participation does not just engage our boys physically, but socially, cognitively, and psychologically as well. As a result, we offer members a wide variety of opportunities to engage in organized athletics.

Josie Robertson School of Music & Art: BCNY understands that involvement in the arts stimulates imagination, improves critical thinking, levels the “learning field” across socio-economic boundaries, and instills both self-confidence and self-discipline. That’s why our boys have so many different options for expressing their creativity.

Camp Cromwell: Our Day Camp Program provides purposeful growth in the out-of-doors during the months of July and August. Through fun activities, experienced in small, same-aged groups, our boys make friends, build personal identity, and enjoy nature. The wide variety of activities includes swimming, ropes courses, basketball, arts and crafts, performing arts, and nature awareness.

Camp Cromwell is an American Camp Association Accredited Camp.
