The Red Swing Project started in February 2007 with a mandate to bring playfulness back into the world. What started as a university design assignment to explore urban intervention has evolved into an international project that has seen red swings “miraculously” appear on four continents.
Through guerilla fundraising and in-kind retired climbing rope donations, The Red Swing Project has hung 90 red swings in USA, India, Thailand, Brasil, South Korea, France, Spain and Portugal.
The simple red swing remains the constant while the environmental backdrops and cultural contexts change from place to place.
