Main Stacks

Main Stacks, or MS for short, is UC Berkeley's first competitive hip hop team performing entertaining and theme-oriented sets for competitions all across California. MS strives to build and grow the bay area dance community by holding weekly hip hop workshops held in Berkeley, CA as well as with their summer training program called Summer Stacks. They are also hosts of a major dance competition called Prelude Norcal, inviting teams from California and across the nation to compete and showcase their dance talents. Main Stacks is an up-and-coming force in the dance community, already taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies at major competitions since their debut in 2008.

The Main Stacks team is comprised of UC Berkeley students, alumni, and dancers from the bay area dance community. Their roster currently has 40 members and each dancer contributes their training, background, and style to choreography and artistic execution. On top of their rigorous performance and practice schedule, MS invites choreographers from the area to continue their training in various styles and performance. The team runs year-round, holding yearly auditions every Fall on the UC Berkeley campus.
