The Jeremie Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and empowerment of disadvantaged girls in Haiti. Its mission is to provide secondary schooling for young women who are willing to learn but are disadvantaged by poor families who cannot pay the fees for a standard education.
The initial five girls in the program range in age from 18 and above are also taking computer and English classes in The Jeremie Project's cyber cafe. By providing them with dormitory living in Jeremie they will learn small business skills leading to employment opportunities. And by giving them a chance to attend a university in Haiti they will contribute to increasing the country's per capita income significantly. Most importantly, education teaches girls they have rights too.
